I know a few of you have sent emails to me regarding Vodhin’s site being down. Well, worry no more, as the site is now back up and fully functional. However, there is a download limit for non-members which resets every 24 hours. This is a safety measure on Vodhin’s end to ensure the server stays up and he doesn’t get charged extra (if that’s the case). That would be a shame, since all of this material is offered for free. So, be kind, and if you have reached your daily quota, simply return the next day and finish up what you needed.

As some of you may now know, the domain www.rctdb.com works once again. Hope that hiccup didn’t confuse too many of you. I’ll be working on a better method to move around some things when I do a re-skin of the site.

The past few days I’ve been trying to move the domain www.rctdb.com to my hosting so all the links look pretty as rctdb.com/ARTICLE, but as we all know, technology has a way of being difficult. Being the computer/tech savy person that I am, I couldn’t figure out the problem, so in the process of moving domains around, it needs to re-propagate throughout the internet. So, this is day 1 of the .com being offline. We should be another day or two without it, but not to worry – it will be back soon. For now, you can access it at the forwarded url of http://www.rctdb.com – where you’ve been this whole time.

In other news, show some support for the Importer at the Sourceforge community choice awards! (also the next post…). Be sure to vote for “Most likely to change the way you do everything” as the category.

Here it is, the 10 across, floorless Griffon coaster car. Also included in the download are some catwalks that actually fit these super wide trains. Be sure to read the readme carefully, as some people have had issues with the installation. It’s another fantastic addition to the CTR family for Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.

You’ll be able to make rides like this, although it’s not the real griffon, it’s certainly based off of it:

I’ve been tinkering with the site lately… hopefully solving all cross-browser issues. I know the layout may not be anything spectacular as of now, but it’s the content that matters… right? I sure hope so. However I’m running low on resources. I will sign up to be affiliates with multiple RCT sites in the coming month, and hopefully they go through.

Please help me out and send in some helpful links, or just ask to be part of the blog – editor(s) always welcome. I can only crawl so many sites at once you know =p

You may have noticed a now centered layout. This proves to be much more efficient in terms of screen real estate, because now it fits to your window, however wide it may be. I was used to looking at flush left sites, and then they all changed to centered. It must be a fad. As you may also have noticed, ads are now up, top right and above the footer. Those will stay for some time, and more may be added accordingly.

Our domain name is finally active. I have registered www.RCTDB.com and it is in a domain forwarding state before it can be finally transferred in about two months. This is some pretty big news, so now you don’t have to remember this long URL anymore. Let us know what you think! Hopefully this will now drive more traffic to the site, as well as make it more widely available. Advertising is soon to follow in the sidebar. As always, thanks for visiting.

So here lies the question, for all of you who may or may not be reading this, would you prefer me to update using direct links to the files, along with the thread they are posted in? The problem with that is if there’s an update, I may not be in check with it, thus linking to an ‘incorrect’ version. However, I will do my best to keep them up-to-date with your help. Leave some comments, let me know people are actually reading this.

According to my stats, we’ve had over 475 visitors last month alone, a steady climb from about 250 in August, and a huge accomplishment since July – 32 visitors. This month we’re half-way to last months benchmark, but I’m looking to double it. Let’s see 1000 visitors by the end of October!

Link sharing is an option, I’ve got plenty of space in the sidebar for ads, and links… maybe the cost can be waived if the sites are fairly new and not much traffic – hey, you gotta start somewhere!

So in a nutshell, direct links… or not, you decide. I will NOT post direct links until I see some comments. So get posting!

I’ll soon add a feeds link above or in the sidebar, so don’t worry about that. For now, you can probably view feeds for the page in your browser (IE7 has built in feed reader/detector).

It’s that time again. We’re eager to provide the most up-to-date information about anything RCT. Help us expand our database with anything and everything you think is important. Head over to our contact page and fill out an email. Please abide by the requirements regarding WIPs (if you have one).

We can also host your custom scenery, parks, rides, structures, and maybe even videos (within reason)! This website is fully capable of embedding any of that information right into the blog post. The site will be periodically updated with all of my materials (when I complete them), but theres no reason why your stuff can’t be here too! So check it out, and send us an email if you want your stuff here.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates. I’ll probably stick to twice-weekly updates, seeing as daily updates can be hard to find – that is unless you have things in mind for the site! Leave comments, I’d love to hear what you have to say.

I’m also looking for other writers for the blog to expand our horizons. It’s just an idea right now to get more contributors, but in the future it could be permanent. I’m only one person, and can only crawl the web so much, and read in 2 languages (English & French). So for those German websites, and other RCT related material, I cant read it (unless I translate it).

Leave comments on what you like/dislike about the template. I coded it myself, so there may be a few bugs here and there =p. Stay tuned for more updates about the site and RCT!
