The fourth and final requirement has been posted. It goes as follows:

  • You must build a water based flat ride
  • log flume, river rafts, rapids, water coaster, giant flume, dingy slide, etc. can all be used
  • Majority should be indoors, but can have outdoor sections
  • It must tell a holiday related story – Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years, etc.
  • No need to make an epic 10 minute ride… there’s only 3 weeks left

Due date: December 21st
Photo due date: December 7th (park advertisement)

The idea behind the pictures is to advertise the park for the polls later next week. So NO TEAM LOGOS.

Good luck!

Winter Showdown – Requirement 3

Requirement 3 has arrived. Nothing too complex, but it must be a terrain hugging rollercoaster. It must be a flying turns, bobsled, or alpine coaster. It may not exceed more than 3 full wall tiles above the ground (9H), some parts are okay to exceed that however. Shape the land accordingly, and the ride may go through buildings and scenery.

Good luck teams!

Winter Showdown – Requirement 2

The second requirement has rolled in. Let’s take a peek at what contestants must abide by.

  • Add two flat rides – one child/family oriented, the other teen/adult oriented
  • They must be in the same vicinity, so if the kids want to ride and so do the parents, the rides are right near each other
  • Make them interesting and impressive, but don’t let one dominate the other
  • Keep it winter themed

Good luck teams!

Winter Showdown signups begin!

Well it’s that time of year again. I know what you’re thinking… did the Summer Showdown ever get finished? The answer unfortunately is no, but that will not stop -NF- from pushing for a 5th attempt at the ‘Showdown’ series. Let’s make this one last! No more drop-outs and computer crashes for the contestants. Heres a few sign-up requiremens:

  • You will make time for this. Do not sign up if you will give less than 100% of your time into this. (Figuratively of course… you need to eat, sleep, and get educated) but otherwise… no excuses.
  • You’re going on vacation… that would be silly to take up a spot
  • Don’t sign up if you wont have time for RCT3 (see first bullet).
  • You MUST work well in a team.
  • Post in the thread saying you want to take part, post your ONE BEST RCT3 work (direct link to it) so drafting can be made easier.

The entrants thus far (and related parks):
andrewm0304
gamer2456
rct3parkmake
XStratales
Jerr_Oen
Themeparknerd
Bakaneko93
deadstar
kylr23
towersdude
Boston

So lets get to it, and make this one a success. Best of luck to all who enter. I’ll be watching you!
